Acupuncture can be a very powerful method of helping the detoxification process. The primary function of acupuncture is to bring about balance by moving Qi, in fact as soon as the first needle is inserted your Qi will move!. Canmore Wellness Centre uses an auricular acupuncture protocol to aid detoxification. We use this powerful protocol to assist the body in ridding itself of toxins in a number of settings:

As a stand-alone detox/withdrawal protocol
As an adjunct to Infra Red Sauna sessions
As part of our Quit Smoking protocol (auricular acupuncture)
As a stand alone session involving massage, cupping and acupuncture

ACUPUNCTURE DETOX PROTOCOL

The protocol consists of the insertion of five (or more), small, fine, sterile stainless steel needles into the outer ear at specific sites. Only disposable needles are used. Clients sit quietly in a group setting or on their own for up to 45 minutes, relaxing.

Acupuncture treatment has shown to be clinically effective for substance misuse and nicotine withdrawal. It is cost efficient, drug free and compatible across cultures.

The Detox protocol is most effective when used in combination with other treatment modalities to meet the professional standards of the field. The combined application of acupuncture with counselling and self-help / support groups, etc. enhances treatment effectiveness.
