Maegan Carney M.A. Psych.
Counsellor and Psychotherapist
Psychological health is like the clear blue sky. It is always there, but sometimes clouds obscure our view. Therapy can help strip away the clouds and bring us back to our true nature.
Maegan has been a psychotherapist for over 15 years and has a Masters in Transpersonal Counselling Psychology as well as degrees in Sports Science and Philosophy. She is a two-time World Champion in Extreme Skiing, and was most recently in private practice as a Licensed Professional Counsellor in Colorado. Her approach is an eclectic blend of heart-centred, bio-energetic, Gestalt and Jungian therapy.
Though her skills were refined through education, Maegan’s depth and insight are grounded in her own personal healing. Transforming her own wounds into strength and compassion makes Maegan uniquely able to empathize with her clients.
Philosophically she believes that what we tend to call our ‘problems’ are really signposts directing us to what our souls are trying to learn. While a crisis may be a necessary step in the process of becoming more whole, therapy provides understanding and support to help ensure that these crises are useful and positive. Therapy gives perspective to our suffering, heals reactive patterns, provides clarity and direction, and brings depth and meaning to our lives.
